I consider myself a fairly competent driver
When it comes to men, I think Im even wiser
But, lately the two seem to be ganging up on me
Traffic violations stack up the more men I start to see
To meet my mischief man, I had to slip away in the night
Later Im caught on camera running a red light
Inarguable pictures get thrown down on the counter
A nice musical highway ride will cure this cold downer
Downtown to snuggle up to my little hipster mister
When a pedestrian j-walks, and I barely miss her!
With no lot to call his own I search for an open meter
Bust a U at the lights and parallel up to some beater
How I love after six, when my change stays my own
Free from worry we chill till its time to head home
Singin songs to myself as I carry on to the car
When I see something white, like maybe a flier from afar
Ticketed again! Man, I thought this space was legit...
Sign says 'passenger loading-zone after six p.m.', shit
Start to envision some sort of secret celestial punishment
Aphrodite knows my dating-sins and demands I repent
This young single scene is full of too much potential
My debt to traffic cops could soon prove exponential
I shrug and shake it off as superstition; just childish
See... Ive got plans tomorrow with an ambitious dish
Just watch where Im going, pay extra careful attention
Theres no way there could be a direct correlation...
Absurd to think the stars solely support dating monogamy
Theyve aligned all these bright boys right in front of me
Nothing of worth comes without effort, even a ticket or tow
And a heart parked in a stuffy garage will just never know
Gotta pay my way through this pricey love-traffic regiment
Maybe I'll find My Prince out idling in front of a fire hydrant!
